What We Collect
Information you provide:
- Email address — For account identification and recovery
- Email preferences — Whether you want recommendations (opt-in only)
- Interests/affinities — Topics you engage with, used to personalize recommendations
Information collected automatically:
- Country — Derived from your IP address for localization
- Last active date — To understand service usage
What We Do NOT Collect
Your conversations are never sent to our servers. All chat history is stored locally on your device or in your personal cloud storage (Google Drive) if you choose to enable sync. We cannot read your conversations.
- We do not store your conversations on our servers
- We do not store your memories or personal facts on our servers
- We do not have access to your passphrase
- We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the service
- To send you recommendations (only if you opt in)
- To understand how the service is used and improve it
- To communicate important updates about the service
Third-Party Services
AI Processing: When you chat, your messages are sent to AI providers (Anthropic, Venice AI, or OpenAI depending on your engine selection) for processing. These providers process your messages according to their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing:
Cloud Storage: If you enable memory sync, your data is stored in your personal Google Drive account. We use Google's API to facilitate this but do not have independent access to your stored data.
Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@storytalk.ai.
Conversations stored on your device or in your personal cloud storage are under your control. You can delete them at any time.

Children's Privacy
Story Talk is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
